Meet Samantha Davies, Rising Tide Lethbridge leader

Question (Q):Tell us all about you, Samantha! (Where do you live, What do you do for living, how long have you been in business; feel free to share about your family/hobbies/fun facts here, too)

Samantha (S): Hi! I’m Samantha. I’ve lived in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada since 2007 when I moved here for University and fell in love with the coulees, the small biz scene, and my (now) husband Travis. We have two exceptional girls and are avid curlers. I have represented Alberta 4 times at the Canadian Championships of Club Curling and won gold in 2019. I own a professional organizing company called All-Ways Organized. We’re a mother/daughter duo bringing function to your chaos. Organizing, cleaning, move-ins, you name it! We specialize in functional organization and offer a unique view to families as we both have a vast childcare background. (And no, we won’t make you throw out all your shit.)

Q: How did you first hear about Rising Tide Society?

A: I was invited on Facebook to attend a Tuesday Together in November of 2019.

Q: What does this community mean to you? Why is it important for small business owners?

A: This community is everything to me. I’ve always been all-in when it comes to supporting small businesses, especially here in Lethbridge, where our small biz owners genuinely have each other’s backs. Honestly, Rising Tide is the reason I felt safe enough to close my dayhome and take the leap to build an entire brand new business on Instagram. The way we support each other is something I’m so passionate about — it’s what makes this group so special to me. I’m committed to making sure that everyone has the chance to succeed because, in our circle, when one of us rises, we all do. The Lethbridge Chapter allows small biz owners the opportunity to get out of their comfort zones, start promoting their passions, and be around other like-minded humans who only want the best for them!

Q: When did you start leading the Lethbridge chapter of Rising Tide? What made you want to nurture small business owners in your area?

A: I was thrilled to be asked by Hailey to lead the Lethbridge chapter in the summer of 2021.
What made me want to nurture small business owners in my area is the incredible support I received through Rising Tide. When I was transitioning from running a dayhome to building a All-Ways Organized, Rising Tide made me feel safe enough to take that leap. The way we uplift each other in Lethbridge truly inspired me to give back and help others succeed.

I’ve even joined forces with another Rising Tider to create a new business called The Strategy Lab, where we support small business owners by helping them uncover the hidden gems that make their businesses unique. Whether it’s brainstorming through roadblocks or connecting with other entrepreneurs who truly get it, The Strategy Lab is all about making sure no one feels like they’re going at it alone.

Q: What sorts of industries are represented in your Rising Tide chapter?

A: Councillors, photographers, athletic therapists, massage therapists, storefront owners, restaurateurs, designers, woodworkers, reflexologists, organizers, cleaners, financial advisors, mortgage specialists, realtors, doulas, content creators, fashionistas, and some of the most creative humans I have ever met!

Q: What has been one of your favourite memories with your Rising Tide chapter?

A: Definitely the ‘pickle on a stick’ incident, IYKYK. And all of the inside jokes: hot Phil, keep tuned, the chats over margaritas, and so many more.

Q: What’s an average meeting like in your chapter?

A: Every third Tuesday of the month, our Rising Tide meetings kick off at 7PM.

We start by going around the room, introducing ourselves, and sharing any exciting projects or promotions we have going on and I always ask this question: If you have received a service or purchased a product from anyone in this room OR if you have provided a service or sold a product to anyone in this room raise your hand, and everyone always raises their hands, it’s the best.

Then, we dive into a speaker session where an expert (99% of the time someone from the small biz community in Lethbridge) talks about a topic chosen by our group, sparking inspiration and new ideas.

After the talk, there’s a Q&A where we dig deeper and share insights.

And of course, we wrap up with some good old-fashioned networking — sometimes over tasty beverages and snacks! It’s a night filled with connection, learning, and support, and it’s always a highlight of the month.

Q: Are there opportunities for virtual connections within your chapter?

A: Not at this time.

Q: Please find 1-2 members of your chapter and ask them the following question and share here, along with their full names and business name + link. Please consider a representation of your chapter and this community.

Q: What has Rising Tide and this chapter meant to you as a member? How has it changed you and/or your business?

A: Rising Tide has been a game-changer for both my business and personal confidence. Through monthly meetings, I’ve gained the courage to step outside my comfort zone, network with other entrepreneurs, and even speak in front of groups. This newfound confidence has positively impacted my online presence, social interactions, and business relationships. Thanks to the community’s support and valuable insights, my business has flourished. I’m incredibly grateful for Samantha’s dedication in organizing this invaluable resource. (Jess, Jess Eliz Brands)

A: When we opened our business in 2023, we had yet to make connections with other fellow small business owners . Those who have started their own businesses can relate to the stresses and isolation of feeling like you are on your own and you just have to “figure it out”. On our very first evening joining Rising Tide, we were immediately welcomed and celebrated. We made incredible connections and realized how special Rising Tide is to the community. With every meeting, we gain valuable insight and are able to share our own pain points in day to day business in a safe supportive environment. The friendships we have made through Rising Tide are simply priceless, and with every new face behind an incredible business, our family grows. Over the past year, Rising Tide has changed our perspective in so many ways and has motivated us to constantly strive to stay hungry for growth and opportunity. We are so grateful for Rising Tide and the amazing people who organize such an event.  (Bee & Kaley, Sonic Bloom)

A: I’ve been attending Rising Tide for over a year now. The community of business owners that attend Rising Tide are knowledgeable, kind and supportive. Attending each month my confidence in myself and my business has grown exponentially. Rising Tide community has opened a multitude of doors to collaborations and learning and growth opportunities that have absolutely changed the trajectory of my business. I would also say that many of the people at Rising Tide have become friends and I absolutely love cheering on their successes and helping them in any way I possibly can personally or professionally. I am so grateful I found this Rising Tide community ❤️ (Serious Sarah’s Wooden Creations)

Q: Do you have any ideas for future events/resources your chapter will experience in the future? Anything you’re looking forward to that you can share with us?

A: September we’re heading to a local clothing store for a chat about Community Over Competition. October we’re doing a show and tell night at a local meat, cheese, and more shop. In November we’re meeting at a coffee shop to chat about Burnout. And December will be our small biz Holiday party at a local gamerie!

Q: How can people join your chapter? (please share links here for things like your chapter FB group, email list, Instagram, website, etc).

A: We’re found on Instagram: @lethbridgerisingtide
